Prayer Letter :)

May 24, 2010
To my wonderful family and friends,
Well, I’m on the verge of another adventure! Once again, I need your prayers! As some of you know, this past March I auditioned at the Southeastern Theatre Conference in Lexington, Kentucky. Before entering the conference, I asked the Lord to reveal his will for my summer (whether or not he wanted me acting). I specifically prayed that He would allow me to work with children. In May, I received a position from Missoula Children’s Theatre! The job is quite demanding, but by God’s grace, I’m ready for the challenge! Over the summer(specifically June 1st-August 25th) I will be touring the West Coast teaching theatre to children! Sounds ideal, doesn’t it?! God is SO good! I will act as a Tour Actor/Director. This means that my partner and I will travel the country, casting/directing a children’s show together. We will be in a different city each week. Basically, my partner and I will cast the show on Monday, perform it on Saturday, and travel to the next city on Sunday. I will be touring 4 states: California, Arizona, Nevada and Utah. It’s a hectic schedule, to be sure! However, I cannot wait to share my life with those kids!
Unfortunately, I am fearful about this summer. However, I do believe in the sovereignty of God. He has placed me with this company for a specific purpose and I trust that! I would love for you guys to join me in praying for this adventure. Here are the verses I am claiming for the summer:
For myself—“ I will lead the blind by ways they have not know, along unfamiliar paths I will guide them; I will turn the darkness into light before them and make the rough places smooth. These are the things I will do. I will not forsake them” Isaiah 42:16
One thing I look forward to this summer is discomfort. I won’t be in my comfort zone of familiar people and places. I’m entering this job with basic information and I’m thrilled! I will be forced to rely on the Lord in everything. I cannot wait! Pray:
• That God will foster within me a fervent desire to meet with him on a daily basis(Psalm 27:1)
• That I will remember that everything is done by God’s grace and unending faithfulness(Lam.3:22-23)
• That I will relate to the children, their parents; my boss and my partner with the abounding love of Christ(because I cannot love them in my own strength)
• Most importantly, that God would give me a bold spirit to share the Gospel wherever I go(2 Tim. 1:7)
For the people I’ll encounter and work with—
“ Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God. Whoever does not love does not know God because God is love. This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him. This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins. Dear friends, since God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. No one has ever seen God; but if we love one another, God lives in us and his love is made complete in us” 1 John 4:7-12
I don’t love selflessly, nor do I love perfectly. But, the Father does. My prayer is that He will empower me to love freely, unconditionally, and beautifully. Some of these children may never receive any other attention than what we Tour Actors will give. I’m ill-equipped on my own, but praise the Lord that I’m not called to this mission on my own. I’m clinging to the truth that, “the one who calls[ me] is faithful and he will do it”(1 Thess. 5:24).Pray:
• That I will serve/love my Tour Actor partner with zeal and patience(Romans 12:12)
• That I will embrace the a servant’s heart, especially with the children(Ephesians 6:7)
• That through and in everything, I would be overtaken with the joy of Christ(Isa. 51:11)
I know this is a rather lengthy list of prayer requests. I want you all to know that I truly appreciate your dedication to pray for me. It is a gift that I pray I will never take for granted. You, my friends and family, are extraordinary. I praise the Lord for the way he has touched my life through your love and guidance! Thank you for taking this journey with me! By God’s grace, I carry your support with me every step of the way!
To make HIM known,
Susanna
